Archaeological Museum of Pafos
The Archaeological Museum of Pafos was established in 1965 – immediately following the independence of Cyprus – and was subsequently expanded in 1977 and 1987. The Museum showcases objects from the excavations in the Pafos district which are representative of the development of civilisation from the Epipalaeolithic period to the Roman period.
The project starts in 2020, following the Museum’s complete renovation with a new museological approach, undertaken by the architecture office of N. G. Savvides Architects Ltd. The appios® team took over the visual identity: proposing a graphical museological study and application, which together with the exhibition design, created a communication bridge between the exhibits of the Museum and the visitor.
“The iconography present throughout the revamped museum, the accompanying informational texts and the colour-coordinated separation of the different halls all work together to assist the visitor in understanding the historical steps of the journey through the various artefacts.”
“The museological identity was extended to the information leaflet - a guide that helps the visitor in the tour.”
