G.P. Georghiou / Female Nudes
Our team was called in to take charge of the brand identity design for the exhibition of the artist G.P. Georghiou at the A. G. Leventis Gallery premises, as well as the design of the published guide for the exhibition. The artist’s work focusing on the female nude figure was going to be exhibited for the first time.
The Process
The project was two-fold and our team had to take a holistic approach in how it went about it. The world of art, museums, galleries, exhibitions and publications is one of the most intricate niches in the world and traditional design disciplines need to be repurposed in order to fit the requirements of this unique industry. For the exhibition, we wanted to let the artist’s work shine, and we therefore took on a minimalistic approach with subtle earth colours.
“The same philosophy was implemented for the published guide. Logo and cover were inspired by the artist’s colour palette and canvas and as far as the content of the guide, the artist’s work was gracefully placed in white background in order to put all the attention on them. ”
“We created design elements that were natural continuations and extensions of his work, creating an atmosphere of belonging. Good design adapts to the project requirements, it never shouts for attention. ”
