The Venus Paradox
The A. G. Leventis Gallery organised the exhibition “THE VENUS PARADOX”, revolving around the subject of the many paradoxes and faces of Venus/Aphrodite, the goddess of love; portraying her as a mother, a lover and a fighter. The appios® team created the branding, design of the information panels, the logo, publications, catalogue, give-away material and all communication pieces.
“This exceptional exhibition had works loaned by various Galleries, Museums and Private Collectors such as the V&A in London, the Louvre in Paris and the Bruno Desmarest Private Collection.”
“As this exhibition was a substantial event, the appios® also re-designed the branding of the Gallery’s restaurant, granting a similar feel with the exhibition, allowing an equal ambient around the Gallery.”
Publication
In the framework of the temporary “The Venus Paradox” exhibition that was held at the A. G. Leventis Gallery, the appios® team designed the accompanying publication. The studio created a unique catalogue inspired by the multiple personalities shown in the character of Venus by separating the colours red, yellow and blue on the cover image of an Aphrodite sculpture. The printing process was chosen to appear reflective under sunlight – a node to the exhibition’s colourful curatorial theme.
“The team at appios® took great care in designing the way that the book would be sold in the gallery’s shop and online. A red ribbon wraps around the book securing it from casual damage whilst simultaneously differentiating it from the rest of the shop’s items.”
